Dear NDA Violator,

Dear NDA Violator,

My headache has now gone & I have had time to reflect on your actions. I read with interest your justification; No, let me rephrase that, worm turning to explain why you did what you did. Apologies sir, but that just don’t hold water where I come from!

At the end of the day you suggest you are not under any NDA, are not reseller or beta tester. But the fact is you did have access to confidential information & I have a good idea how you acquired the “said” data. I wonder if you still have access to the “said” vendors reseller portals? Hmmmmm makes me wonder. So armed with this information did you ever think of contacting the “said” software vendor to see if you were allowed to post it?...... I guess not. Oh yeah, you are a journalist & you can do what you like. Freedom of speech & all that.

SO I note you see this as some kind of competition? Who gets the most traffic? Really? Oh, did I touch a raw nerve? I guess I did. Do I post for notoriety & want to be the first one past the post? No, I really don’t. If you take a look at my site you will notice only one advert & that’s for my friends & colleagues book. So there you have it, it’s not about revenue generation or being first past the line. I wonder if you can say the same thing???……..Yeah, that’s what I thought.

So that is my response to our Bog post & in my eyes this puts closure to this sorry state of affairs. Normal service is now resumed.

Yours respectfully

David Light :-)

David, I am fully confident that your official and legitimate after-NDA post on Revit 2013 will be the most re-posted and viewed Revit 2013 blog post.

After last year, I have NO intention of trying to compete with you on this one!

I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts. Don't let the over-eagerness of certain individuals sour your own professionalism :-)

What strikes me as funny, is i like blogging about work, because i consider the small community of us sort of a team, that work and feed off one another. I dont know who (if anyone) ever reads my blog, and i dont care.

It always strikes me as hysterical how THAT blog appears to be a giant advertisement... For itself. "You heard it here first!" Really? Who freaking cares?

Sadly, there is often misleading or misrepresenting information on that blog too. Ive gotten a few emails from consultants who have seen things on there, and had questions, and ive had to explain that it is one of the ones you DONT want to get information from.

But i digress. You are right, David, its completely stupid. More stupid is that the poster thinks its valid that he got the stuff *anonymously.* Thats false. He either stole it, or it was transmitted to him, which can be traced. I would die laughing if they went after him for it.

Hi Dave
I had no idea about this, but strangely one of my guys was talking about new features this morning, so he obviously picked up on it. Wasn't hard to find out who this is, and I've now removed him from my sidebar. To be honest it's a really ugly looking site. Even journalists should have some design sense, don't you think ?

I look forward to your post on Revit 2013. It is unfortunate when others don't play by the rules, but we all know that cheaters never win!

Cheers!

If he isn't directly under NDA then he's free to do as he sees fit with the information. An NDA in this case would be an agreement between the individual or his company and the software vendor. If there is none, then no harm no foul (at least from a legal standpoint).
