A few months back I looked at how to create a helix in Revit 2010 without the need of any heavy math. Zach Krone and BIM troublemaker did similar examples on there blogs with varying degrees of complexity.
So I figured the other day that there must be a smarter way to do this in Revit 2011 with the new adaptive component tool. Take a look at the youtube Video for more info.
With a bit of messing around you can end up with something like this. :-)

But I think: does it has significance to make a project to be built? Because its placed in mass family... Can I use CNC to mass families? Or it just a study?

I would understand the true function of this tool is how you make a tutorial showing the use of this tool in a real project?

Little thing, do you know you can just pick a plane and it sets that as your working plane, you don't always have to go to the set plane command. Minor point! Awesome stuff.

I was very impressed with your blog as I have never used Massing Tool before, as I use Revit Structure and too me massing had no real application in Structure. Since you were showing steps slowly I was able to follow all your steps and was able to create it myself.
